His work spans operations management, staff development, and strategic planning, with ongoing involvement as a consultant and advisor. His early career involved research and private forestry consulting, and he has multiple published articles and editorials on sustainability standards and wildlife management.
Dr. Patricia 'Pat' Layton

Dr. Pat Layton has held leadership, advisory, and research roles across academia, industry, and sustainability initiatives, including a six-year term on the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Board and serving as the founding director of the Wood Utilization + Design Institute at Clemson University, where she also worked as a professor and director of the school of Agricultural, Forest, and Environmental Sciences. Her work bridges practical management and long-term strategy in sustainable development.
